Oh dear, we are all still feeling a little ill after gorging on plentiful food and drink on this year’s last Monday Club. Speakers Tim Hayward and Matthew De Abaitua held forth on the pleasures and temptations of food, our performers Sophie and Roberto from The Lady Greys wore partially edible clothes, while DJ Fritz spun some delicious tunes. Hungry for more? Keep your eyes peeled for a new season of The Monday Club starting February 2012.

Our imaginary studio

Here are some pics from our imaginary studio, that we set up last month as part of the London Design Festival in conjunction with Graphic Bird Watching. We created this miniature illustrated studio for our imaginary alter-egos Ludmilla and Nicolette: chaotic, obsessed with shopping and cats, devouring romantic novels and gin drinking, these two obviously embody the EXACT OPPOSITE of what we’re really like.
Thank you very much to Joana Niemeyer from Graphic Birdwatching for inviting us to take part and to Leigh-Anna Garwood and Alice Mercier for documenting the event. We hope all out visitors enjoyed the day as much as we did (in a haze of sweet sherry).

Last night our friends from The Assembly and us hosted another installment of our evening salon on the Seven Deadly Sins. The theme was PRIDE, supposedly the worst of all sins. Guests Toby Young and documentary maker Danni Davis held forth on some incredibly proud people encountered at Vanity Fair in New York and the vanity of young girls entering beauty pageants. We also staged our own little pageant with some gorgeous beauty queens. Next up is WRATH. We’re all a little bit frightened already!

If you are interested in a studio visit on Monday the 23rd of Sept get a ticket and come along! Just don’t expect a normal studio – your visit will involve small spaces and distorted dimensions of course.

Throw Caution to the Wind

We are delighted to hold our finished booklet in our hand: This is a wonderful publication that grew out of conversations we had with hospital patients at Barts and The Royal London, two big NHS hospitals in London. We spoke with them about adventurous times in their lives and then transcribed and illustrated their tales. Commissioned by VitalArts, this booklet will now be distributed through various NHS hospitals and invites further patient participation in letter form. We are waiting for the postman impatiently.
In collaboration with Patricia Niven and Jessie Price.

For a project for London Design Festival we are working on our own range of women’s glossies. All copy is directly taken from magazines. Great fun to work on, I hope you enjoy them, too.
